Ramadan is a blessed month that we look forward to. Eating a varied and balanced diet will give you the energy you need for your fasting days and acts of worship. Here are some ideas for filling up on energy.
The month of RAMADAN is the month in which Allah sent down the Holy Qur-an as mentioned in the following verse:﴾The month of Ramadan in which the Qur'an was sent down as a guide for people and clear proofs of right guidance and discernment.﴿ [s. Al-Baqara (The Cow): v. 185].
It is also the month that Allah has chosen in order to command the believers to fast in it in a regulated manner. The proof of this lies in His word (exalted be He): ﴾ So whoever of you is present in this month, let him fast ﴿ [s. Al-Baqara (the Cow): v. 185] And His word (purified and exalted be He) ﴾Eat and drink until the white thread of dawn is distinguished for you from the black thread of night. Then perform the fast until night﴿ .
The Lawgiver Allah, also tells us the reason why fasting has been legislated for the believers during verse 185 of Surah 2: ﴾ O believers! You have been prescribed As-Siyâm [fasting] as was prescribed for those before you, so will you attain piety ﴿ [s. Al-Baqara (The Cow): v. 183]. Thus it is appropriate for the believer to seek to attain piety during this month through fasting during his days, as well as in nightly prayer combining this with recitation and meditation of the noble Qur-an.
According to the Hadith reported by 'Abdullah ibnu 'Amr (May Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Take Suhur even if only with a sip of water. »
